Play Maps

Play Maps!

Browse a catalog of unique maps, made by staff and the community! Join the best-rated masterpieces, play high-quality parkour courses, look at new works from aspiring creators, and more—the choice is yours. To help tailor an experience for each person, we’ve made a few systems to diversify maps:

Map Qualities and Ratings:

When in a map, you can give it a like or a dislike. All maps start as “Unrated,” but with enough likes, their quality goes higher, first to “Good,” then, to “Great,” and after that, to “Excellent.” From there, maps will be judged by staff to potentially become “Outstanding” or “Masterpiece.” The higher the quality, the more discoverable they are, and the more we will recommend them to new users.

Map Types:

Parkour maps are split into multiple types: Speedrun, Sectioned, Rankup, Gauntlet, Dropper, One Jump, and Informative, some of which will have unique elements in the future (ex: rankup not allowing checkpoints, dropper enabling damage, etc). Building maps are split into two simple types (for now): Showcase and Tutorial.

Map Tags:

To highlight interesting components of maps and make searching easier, we have added tags, both visual (organics, terrain, 2D, etc.) and gameplay (puzzle, escape, boss battle, etc.) categories.

Map Settings:

To add unique aspects to maps, we have given the option for players to toggle visual settings (time of day and weather) and gameplay settings (only sprint, no sprint, no jump, and so on).

Create Maps

Create Maps!

Design, build, and customize the map of your dreams! Whether you want to build a small house, a large-scale, abstract organic, or just an interesting sequence of parkour jumps, it’s all up to you.

We just want to make the process easier for you and provide a platform to, if you so desire, share your work, get recognition for it, and collaborate with others:

Building With Friends

If you want to build your map with someone else, it’s easy—just /invite them. When you leave your map, everyone that you invited will be kicked out. If you want to kick someone out when building, /remove them. Eventually, you will be able to invite a few people as trusted members, letting them build on your map even when you aren’t in it.

Custom Blocks and Items

Custom blocks and items are unique implementations added by the server that offer convenient ways to streamline the building process and enhance gameplay for specific map types. You can view them all with the Builder Menu you are given when creating a world. Alternatively, you can use /bm, or use /give. When giving yourself items, vanilla items are prefaced with minecraft:, while our custom items are prefaced with mapmaker:. For example, to get a checkpoint for a parkour map, you would type /give mapmaker:checkpoint_plate.

Build Tools

On Hollow Cube, building is made simple. You have access to multiple worlds that you can edit and switch to at any time, and with Terraform, our custom building software, many things are made for your convenience: debugging block states, basic World Edit functionalities, etc.

Axiom Support

Axiom is the best building mod available right now, and you can use it on Hollow Cube, for free! If you don’t have it, why not try it out and take your building to the next level? axiom.moulberry.com.

Monetization

We have a premium currency called Cubits. You can get them occasionally in-game for free, but you can also buy them on our store. They are used to unlock premium features, such as additional map slots and upgraded map sizes, and can be used to buy cosmetics directly.

We have a subscription service called Hypercube which can only be bought on the store (it can be gifted to someone else in-game with Cubits, though only if you have Hypercube). It gives you access to all premium features, as well as some extra perks: Name Color and Badge, White Chat, Hypercube Discord Tag, More Emojis, Beta Testing, and more!
