One Year Anniversary

It’s officially been one year since we opened the Map Maker to the public! While we’re not quite ready to shed our ” Early Access” tag just yet, we’ve been blown away by the community’s creativity and have been working hard to push out new features and content.

We’ve been announcing most updates in our Discord, and have recently been getting back on track to posting on our website, but here’s a quick few examples in recap:

• A new, simpler, map browser
• Block placing parkour
• Attribute support (gravity, etc.)
• New map settings
• New items (wind charges, tridents, elytra)
• Multi-version support (1.21.4 - 1.21.6)

Server Stats

We like stats, and its only fair to share. Here are some of the interesting stats about the server so far:

• Unique Players: 9,176 Players
• Total Maps Published: 1,819 Maps
• Total Time Spent Playing: 3,225 Days
• Total Time Spent Building: 532 Days

First Official Competition

To celebrate our one-year milestone, we’re thrilled to announce that starting on July 19th, our first official map-making competition will begin, running for a total of 16 days! We have to keep most of the details under wraps for now to avoid spoiling the surprise and giving people a head start advantage, but we can tell you that the prize pool will be worth hundreds of dollars! More details on rules, judging criteria, and other information will be announced as we get closer to the competition’s start date.

Future Plans

While we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we’re always looking ahead. Our main focus is to make Hollow Cube feature-complete for parkour. This means we will be working to implement remaining essential parkour mechanics, like damage for dropper maps, per-player flippable trapdoors, other items such as Maces, and so on.

Additionally, this year, we plan to begin publishing Official Content made by our own staff team and friends we have partnered with. It will be a collection of unique, high-quality maps with their own challenges and rewards, designed to showcase the full potential of our server’s features. More info on that to come later!
